Great experience as always! Putu and Ria play all the right chords. The journey with Putu is both entertaining and educational. He truly knows everything about the plants and animals and how to grow rice properly and provides excellent explanations, including their significance in the Balinese culture. And the sceneries are absolutely breath-taking. If you weren't already blown away by the walk with Putu, Ria's superb lunch completes the experience. The most delicious lunch in North Bali! Well-deserved 5-star rating and I highly recommend this to everyone!"

  9. can’t recommend enough! If you come to Bali you need to do this tour and learn about authentic Balinese culture. My boyfriend and I have been travelling for 6 months now and this is the best tour we’ve taken. Putu and his wife Ria welcomed us like family into their home. Putu took us out on a walk near his home village, showing us the different plants and crops as well as teaching us about rice farming. He shared wonderful personal stories about growing up in Bali and was really able to explain how his religion and culture come into play in everyday life. We then returned to his home where Ria had cooked an amazing and enormous spread of food for us (including vegetarian food for me). It was so delicious and we wanted to eat it all, but there was so much we barely made a dent! It was so nice to spend the morning with this lovely, genuine and generous family to learn about Balinese culture – it’s an absolute must and I can’t recommend enough!

  10. It was such an awesome experience. Putu is an very good guide who will teach you a lot about local agriculture, balinese culture and local religion. Ria prepared us a delicius lunch also with veggie options. Just go there and have a good time. Thanks to Ria and Putu.

  11. Amazing! We got to know how the real Bali lives and lots about their religious beliefs and knowledge about agriculture and plant medicine. He toured us around plantations, explained all their incredible crops and let us taste fruit we otherwise wouldn’t have tried our selves. Putu was such a great guide, with lots of pride in his culture, perfect English and amazing story telling skills. His wife prepared the most delicious meal for lunch, and we sat down with a breathtaking view of the mountains.

  12. Amazing experience! Putu and Ria are very warm and hospitable people. Putu leads a tour through the rice fields and explains everything about cultivation of food and Balinese culture. Meanwhile Ria prepares an amazing lunch with fresh vegetables, rice, herbs, spices and chicken. Hospitality at its finest! Really recommend it!!

  13. The walk through the ricefields is an amazing experience, thanks to Putu. He knows all the plants, trees and herbs in the area and can tell a good story about each of them. The tour is about 2 hours and never dull because of the funny stories by Putu. After the tour we went to his house, where his wife Ria had prepared an authentic Balinese lunch, absolutely delicious! When visiting Bali we recommend doing a tour and spend some time with this lovely couple! We had a great day.

  14. We had really nice morning trekking with Putu and having lunch afterwards with him and her wife Ria! We had our toddler aged two and our baby aged 6 months in carriers, the route Putu took was perfect for this, lots of shade, not too steep, about two hours (exactly de duration we’ve discussed in advance). The area we walked through was also a lot cleaner than other places in Bali where we went on similar treks. Along the way Putu explained a lot about the plants we saw, religion, irrigation of the rice fields and so on. The lunch afterwards was very delicious. Thanks again Putu and Ria for everything! 🙂

  15. Five out of five stars and one of the best things we did so far in Bali! We had a marvelous tour with Putu, walking through the rice terraces and plantations, learning a lot about fruits, rice plantations and Balinese culture! Putu shared everything in a very detailed way and was very open for additional questions! Afterwards we had lunch at his and Ria‘s place with a tremendous view and the best and most diverse food we had in Bali so far. Ria was cooking quite a lot and in the end we also enjoyed Pisang Goreng, yummy yummy yummy! At the end leaving the table and their home almost felt like leaving friends because of their warm and friendly attitude.

  16. beautiful insight into balinese plantation, agriculture and culture! and the food by ria was the tastiest food we had in bali so far. 🙂

  17. This was our best day on Bali! This excursion really gives you the feeling of authentic Bali. Putu led us on a spectacular walking path through fruit groves and rice fields, explaining how rice is grown and harvested, sharing his knowledge and stories about the local fruits and spices, and pointing out amazing photo opportunities. After the walk Putu and his wife Ria and daughters welcomed us into their home for our most delicious and authentic Balinese meal. The food was made with love and we enjoyed the company immensely.

  18. This experience was one of the best I had in Bali so far. Already the first contact with Putu via WhatsApp was super easy and nice. He even organised a driver for us, which drove us to the starting point of the walk. There we met Putu and startet the walk, which lasted almost 3 hours. It is a nice walk through the countryside and Rice fields and Putu shared a lot of knowledge he had about the different plants and trees. He answered any question we had and gave us the possibility to try many different fruits and make a lot of pictures. His humor and the way of underlining his information by many and good examples made the tour even more funny and enjoyable. After the walk we drove to Putu’s house, where his wife Ria had prepared an absolutely fantastic and delicious balinese lunch with a soup and different dishes. Putu and Ria were so kind and very hospitable. I can recommend the tour to anybody who wants to learn more about the balinese flora and fauna and meet Super nice local people.

  19. The Tour with Putu was amazing! It is absolutely worth the money and highly recommended to do the tour! We learned a lot about the landscape, the work of the farmers and fruits and tried some local fruits and snacks. Putu is an amazing guide. And the lunch together with Putu and his wife was great too. The food was so delicious! To sum up: Do the tour! 🙂

  20. Still the nicest tour on the island! Every time I am in Bali, I visit Putu and his wife. In my opinion it is the most beautiful and best tour you can do here. The two are incredibly loving, sympathetic and funny people who make the tour with such joy. You learn not only about rice cultivation, but also a lot about the nature and plants around. The prepared lunch which is served after the tour is another highlight. Traditional food in a great location, as you rarely find anymore. I can highly recommend the tour and will come back myself!

  21. Leander Van Den H says:

We had a great day. The walk with Putu was beautiful. The views are amazing and Putu is very knowledgeable. He explained a lot about the local flora and fauna and the culture and he even let us taste different fruit and herbs. As if that was not enough, Putu took us to his house were his wife Ria made an authentic and delicious lunch (more like a very big dinner). We recommend this tour to everybody!

  22. Putu and Ria were amazing hosts and guides. We did this short trek with our 4 young kids and they really loved it and learned lots of appreciation for the area and culture. Lunch was amazing and Putu and Ria were so beautiful and welcoming. This is a must adventure when in North Bali
